Frequently asked questions
Why is my file still bigger than the target?
Very large images sometimes cannot reach tiny targets at a readable quality. We then reduce the pixel size step by step. If the form fixes the pixel size, use the matching Exam preset instead, which keeps the exact dimensions.
Can I compress a PNG to a small KB size?
PNG is lossless, so it cannot be squeezed by quality. For a KB target we save it as JPG (or WebP). Transparent areas become white.
Is 1 KB 1000 or 1024 bytes?
Portals differ. To be safe we keep files under the limit counted as 1000 bytes, which also passes portals that count 1024.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. ConvertRight runs entirely in your browser. Your file is processed on your own phone or computer and is never sent to a server.
