Frequently asked questions
What is the passport size photograph size for JEE Main?
Passport size photograph: JPG/JPEG, No fixed size, 10–200 KB. Recent colour photo, 80% face visible (without mask) including ears, white background. Source: JEE (Main) 2026 Information Bulletin, last verified 19 Oct 2026.

Do I need to upload a photo for JEE Main?
Live photograph is captured live with your webcam or phone camera on the official portal, so there is nothing to prepare for it here. Specs are from the JEE (Main) 2026 bulletin. Re-check when the 2027 bulletin is released.
My file is smaller than the minimum KB. What should I do?
Use “Make it fit”. We keep the highest JPEG quality allowed; if the image is still too small (common for simple signatures), we add harmless padding inside the file so it meets the minimum size. The picture itself does not change.
Will the portal accept a photo taken on my phone?
Usually yes, if it is sharp, well lit and on a plain light background. Crop it to the face and shoulders using the box above. Avoid filters, beauty modes and selfies at arm’s length.
Are my photo and documents uploaded to ConvertRight?
No. Everything runs inside your browser. Your files never leave your device, and nothing is stored after you close the page.
How do you know these specs are correct?
We read the official notification and link it under “Official sources” with the date we last checked (19 Oct 2026). Specs can change between years, so open the notification for your cycle if anything looks different.
